The Board and Education Committee are planning the next round of course development for our LearnWorlds catalog. We want to hear from YOU — what topics would be most valuable?
Current catalog covers: Ethics, GAAP, Tax Strategy, AI & Automation, Data Analytics, Leadership, Communication, Forensic Accounting, Nonprofit Finance, CPE Planning, Networking.
Some ideas we’re considering:
- International accounting standards (IFRS)
- ESG/Sustainability reporting
- Advanced Excel modeling
- Cybersecurity for finance professionals
- Mergers & acquisitions due diligence
What would you add? What gaps do you see? Drop your suggestions below!
Advanced data visualization and Python for finance would be amazing! The Data Analytics course is a great foundation, but I’d love a more technical follow-up that goes deeper into tools like Pandas, matplotlib, and building automated reporting pipelines.
International tax topics would be incredibly valuable. More and more of my clients have cross-border considerations, and the current course catalog doesn’t cover OECD guidelines, transfer pricing, or treaty interpretation. This is a significant gap.
Grant writing and management for nonprofits! Financial management is covered, but the grant lifecycle — from application through compliance and reporting — is its own specialized skill set. Many nonprofit finance professionals need this.
Industry-specific accounting courses would be great. Manufacturing accounting (cost accounting, inventory, WIP) is quite different from services-based accounting. A course tailored to specific sectors would fill a real need.
More beginner-friendly tech courses please! The AI course is great but assumes a certain comfort level. An “Introduction to Technology for Finance Professionals” that covers the basics (APIs, databases, cloud computing) would help people like me bridge the gap.
